Timeslips/Quickbooks simply wasn’t adequate for my needs when I changed the focus of my practice. In my prior practice, I didn’t need trust accounting (plaintiffs’ class action progress — only got $ when case finished). I moved upstate and opened a small general practice. Switching to CosmoLex made accounting, trust accounting and billing a cinch. Moreover, as a sole practitioner, it was THE ONLY WAY I could function without secretarial support (so the $79/month pales in comparison with the costs of hiring personnel, even in rural upstate NY). In addition, my tax prep now consists in simply creating a handful of reports and emailing them to my accountant — a MASSIVE timesaver. Best of all, CosmoLex is virtually idiot-proof when it comes to trust accounting — it will not permit impermissible transactions — a great comfort.
